3D-Coronal magnetic field modelling
T. Wiegelmann

A detailed knowledge of the 3D structure of the coronal magnetic field is very important, because the magnetic field dominates and structures the corona. Consequently the physics of the corona cannot be understand without information about the magnetic field. While direct measurements of the coronal magnetic field are extremely difficult, we have two independent sources of information to get insights into it: One approach is to use magnetic field measurements in the photosphere as boundary condition for a force-free corona model. In a complimentary approach coronal EUV-images from at least two vantage viewing points can be used to reconstruct the 3D structure of coronal magnetic loops by stereoscopy. Finally both methods can be combined.
