Observations of the Sun in Japan
In addition to NAOJ, observations of the Sun in Japan are conducted at various locations by educational and research institutions, public astronomical observatories, and amateur astronomers. The targets of these observations include sunspots, flares, prominences, etc. Continuous observations over a long period of time using the same equipment and techniques provide valuable data for studying changes in solar activity. This page provides a list of solar observers and institutios who have provided data or information to NAOJ.
