Since
2004 the Graduate University for
Advanced Studies (GUAS) has been sponsoring Asian Winter Schools for
various branches of science. This year, under their sponsoring and the
over-all topic 'Fluctuations and Structure Formation', National Astronomical Observatory of
Japan (NAOJ) is organizing a winter school for solar
physics. The winter school offers lectures, hand-on experience with Hinode data (with some
instruction sessions) and a day trip to Nobeyama Radio Heliograph.
As the name suggests, supposed participants are mainly from Asian countries
but we hope not to discourage students and young post-docs from other areas
to participate as well. Limited travel fund will be available. The list of
lecturers includes: Takashi Sakurai (solar magnetism), Takashi Sekii
(helioseismology) and Kiyoshi Ichimoto (observation methods). *We are afraid that Prof.
Saku Tsuneta is not available as a lecturer. |
|
Although there is no registration fee, a small charge will arise for those who attend the planned welcome and/or farewell parties, to be collected on site. |

|
Registration Deadline : 4 Jan 2008 The Winter School closed on 7 Mar.
Thank you for your participation. |
